Is there anyway of consolidating a file in Studio (R12)?

I have a file which is updated regularly, with both additions and deletions.  I want to consolidate these so I have a full list & I can't just use the new list as I still require the deleted values as well; is there a way of doing this directly in Apptio?  The only way I can think of is to use the Append & the Remove Duplicates steps, but it would mean a new table for every file we receive so that we can append it separately.

Hi, @Lauren Griessel and @Paul Melican - do you have steps for this by chance for someone who hasn't dipped their toe into the Datalink pond yet? #datalinknoob 

I want to 'automagically' pull in data from another CT table (add rows) and do this each month that there's a new upload (and remove duplicates).  Going to try following the Apptio Connector Guide , but wanted to check to see if there were other steps or if this had been done before by others.  Thank you both! :-)

Following on from Lauren's idea I think you could use Datalink to copy forward the prior months table so...

Table 1: upload this months new file, appended with table 2, apply the remove duplicates

Table 2: copy forward of last months' Table 1 using Datalink.

You should be able to rig Table 2 up using the information in the Apptio Connector Guide. Also you can schedule it so it should be fully automated.

Alison Chapman you have a sister in misery - new to DL - didn't know you could do this!  Glad this is available, but the file we receive isn't set up for DL - it's just a data export, but maybe I can run it through anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
