  • 1.  APIC v5 to v10 upgrade query

    For Virtual Appliances (OVAs) :

IBM Documentation States that while performing a fresh installation of v10, it is highly recommended you begin with the latest delivery of v10

    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6508607

So, in this case Is it Ideal for us to Download IBM® API Connect v10.0.4.0 OVA for upgrading from APIC v5 to v10?

    Hi Pradeep,

You should be able to use the latest APIC and DP v10 versions. For APIC, you do have to choose whether you go to LTS v10.0.1.x (latest v10.0.1.5), or use CD v10.0.x (latest v10.0.4.0-ifix1).

    Thanks for the Info Sumanto!

I notice IBM is Providing two OVA files for Example :

IBM API Connect 10.0.4.0 Enterprise Non-Production Multiplatform English eAssembly (G04R4EN)

IBM API Connect 10.0.4.0 Enterprise Production Multiplatform English eAssembly (G04R5EN)

    Any difference between them?

I would like to understand the implications incase if we use non-prod ova for a production server or vice versa - Will it cause any Performance issues?

IBM API Connect has different part numbers for Production vs. Non-Production software when ordering the product. These can be ordered in different quantities based on the deployment environment requirements. There are not functional differences (e.g. performance limits) between the Production and Non-Production OVA.

Non-Production Limitation - If the Program is designated as "Non-Production", Licensee can only use the Program as part of Licensee's internal development and test environment for internal non-production activities. This is described in the Licensing Information documents that can be found here https://www-40.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf/sla/home?OpenDocument
