    We are in process of migrating API Connect V5 to V10 version and in that process we need to setup V5 environment to perform intermediate upgrade from 5.0.8.6 to 5.0.8.7 before migrating to V10(10.0.5.6). While setting up V5 environment, VMware team not able to import OVA file(APIConnect_Management_5.0.8.6iFix_20190509-2159_e1921dac94eb_8671de8.ova) and getting unable to process template error. Case has been raised with VMware broadcom team and they suggested OVA files with external msg files are not processed by Vcenter server, hence the workaround is to use url instead of file, or to check with vendor if we can get an OVA without msg file. We tried using url but still getting unable to process template. Do any one know workaround for this issue and how to get this fixed please?

Try using the cli ovftool instead of the vcenter ui.

We have only ESXi 7 version and not ESXi 6.5 version. Do we know APIC Management server V5.0.8.6 ova file is compatible with ESXi 7 version? Any one able to deploy 5.0.8.6 OVA file in ESXi 7 using ovf cli tool?

You're asking if an APIC version that went out of support multiple years ago is compatible with a VMWare version that came out years after it was released.

APIC 5.0.8.6 is not supported at all anymore.

It should work (because the differences between vmware 6.5 and 7 are fairly minor) - but you will need to try it yourself at your own risk.

Can I recommend you get to APIC v10 ASAP as you're running really incredibly out of date software?
