  • 1.  Ad Hoc Report Question

    Posted 08/09/16 03:06 PM

Hi there, have another reporting question.  I have an ad hoc table that shows all app cost drivers and their cost and ytd cost by application.  One of those drivers is servers and it contains dollars flowing in from the storage object.  I want to break that out in the ad hoc report.  I was thinking I had a way - pull in all of the server drivers (physical server, hypervisor, middleware, and storage), and then sum the first three and leave storage in a column by itself, but it doesn't seem to want to work that way.  Any ideas on how to break storage out so that our app owners can see the storage portion of their tco?  Thanks so much!!!

    Hi Jenny,

There is an OOTB report that gives you some of this detail already. Here is the navigation for it:

IT Management - Applications OR Apps/Services - App TCO

Click on the By IT Tower tab

Find Storage in the table or in the bar chart and click on it (drill down)

This navigates you to a drill down of each storage sub-tower by application:

You can either use this instead of building a new report or use this as the basis for a new report.

    Hope this helps,

Wonderful!  Thank you!  Will tinker with this to see how to incorporate it in the report we're sending to the customers now.  I may have to reach out again, but will dig into this one to see how I can get those dollars over for Tier 1 (that's all we have loaded right now).  Thank you again!!
