Leveraged Apptio data modelling and report capabilities to Drove business value
Business executives were looking for a report by which they can track Product costing which include monthly cost, average cost and product unit cost. There are multiple processes which constitutes to overall product costing based on its corresponding volume allocation percentage. Earlier Customer use to prepare complex reports manually which was difficult to maintain, share, collaborate and there was always a chance of error due to manual handling.
Post understanding the business requirement, I along with the team analyzed the requirement and gathered the data for configuring the object in Apptio to allocate the cost from Business Services Object to Product Catalog UPM based on volume allocation percentage (weighting), set up the model object and created report which provides information on product costing.
Please find an overview of my approach in the attached presentation, which shows my implementation steps for creating the reports to meet user requirement in relation to Product unit costing. In addition, the presentation includes my findings and lessons learned during my ACE Journey.
