    You needn't have to reinstall the software. Just updating the license file (typically called the access.ilm file present by default under the C:\ILOG\ILM\ folder on windows machines and /usr/ilog/ilm directory on Unix/Linux boxes) with the contents of the new license file should be enough.

    The error itself indicates that the license file is no longer valid and has expired- you should be able to verify this by opening the license file using the wordpad/notepad and then if you see a date in the 'CPLEX' line which is in the past, then that would explain the reason for the error. If that is indeed the case, then I would recommend you to use the following academic initiative link and request a new license based via the 2nd link in there:

    Can you send me your license file (araman (at) us (dot) ibm (dot) com)? Also, please send me the complete error message when you try to run the interactive optimizer using your current license file.
