As part of the API Connect v12.1.0 release, dark mode support has been added across the API Connect user interfaces to improve visual comfort and usability. This update brings a cleaner, modern, and more comfortable visual experience for users who prefer working in low-light environments or simply enjoy the aesthetics of a darker UI.
Why dark mode?
Dark mode has become an essential part of modern application design. It reduces eye strain, improves readability in low-light settings, and helps users stay focused on the content that matters. With many teams spending long hours in dashboards and reports, it was the right time to bring theme flexibility to our UIs.

Easy Theme Switching
A new theme toggle is now available directly in the UI header, allowing users to switch effortlessly between Light Mode and Dark Mode at any time. The transition is immediate and does not interrupt your workflow.
This theme switching is supported consistently across:
-
Cloud Manager - now offering dark mode for a more comfortable experience while administering the overall configuration, security, and performance of the API Connect environment.
-
API Manager – allowing users to manage catalogs, spaces, APIs, products, roles, and usage analysis in a visually comfortable theme.
-
Consumer Catalog – making it easier for developers to browse and subscribe to APIs, products, and plans in a clean, lightweight interface.
A Unified Dark Mode Experience Across APIC
With this update, all major APIC workflows from managing organizations and catalogs to exploring and consuming APIs now support dark mode. Navigation menus, data tables, forms, dashboards, and charts all adapt smoothly to the selected theme.
Designed for Clarity and Consistency
Dark mode is designed to ensure:
-
Comfortable contrast and readable text
-
Consistent colors and layouts across the interface
-
Smooth switching between light and dark themes
-
An accessible experience for all users
No matter which theme you choose, the UI remains clean, simple, and easy to use.
