"Blimey! Defender in Korea is overcapacity!"
Yes, you heard that right, we hosted an IBM Storage Defender event for our IBM Channel Partners in Korea on June 17th-19th
. We had more people than we had seats for initially, so if anyone asks you if Data Resiliency is a hot topic in Korea, we have the IBM Channel Partners to prove it. Three mornings in a row, we had technical focused enablement on
IBM Storage Defender Data Protect
, and
IBM Storage Sentinel
and
IBM Storage Data Resiliency Service
.
Knowing everyone was busy and June is already a busy month for everyone, we had set aside 20 seats for all 3 days in a row. Boy oh boy! was I pleasantly surprised when I was told we have 45 IBM Channel Partners join us and we were overcapacity.
Big Team discussion
Among the team onsite with me was
Reginald D’Souza
, and
Roger Lockerbie
. Defender Diva
Shelly Howrigon
though not with us in flesh but with us in heart and mind, kick off the event with IBM's End-to-End Resilience to Data Protection and for those deep Technical IBM Storage Defender we also virtually joined by
Christopher Vollmar
and
Christian Burns
. On top of that,
Peter Hanna
the Cohesity Head of Partners - Asia Pacific & Japan, joined to talk about teaming with IBM the value of IBM being a ‘true OEM partner’.
Even up till Day 3, we didn’t lose steam and room was packed. Key capabilities which drew Business Partners:
Threat detection with FlashSystem
Automate Safeguarded Copy
Deep Database integration and cloning
VM backup with VMware, HyperV and Nutanix
Recovery is key!
Our partners told us that a key discussion they are having is about recovery of an environment.
How do integrate more on Primary Storage like FlashSystem and other 3rd party systems?
Governance, governance, governance was another key topic, in knowing what to recover, what to protect and make sure it is meeting the business requirements.
If you find yourself nodding, time to revive Backup & Recovery play with IBM Storage Defender Data Protect. Reach out to your IBM Channel Partner community, or your IBM specialist and see how IBM Storage Defender can provide a key recovery capability you might be missing. You will be pleasantly surprised 😊.
Oh, and by the way – check out what IBM Storage Defender just announced (our Korea team got a sneak preview):
