Smarter Backup, Strong Resilience - Enhanced Backup System Dashboard for Data Resilience Service

IBM is proud to introduce the enhanced backup systems dashboard in IBM Storage Defender. This new interface delivers real-time visibility, actionable intelligence, and intuitive controls to help you safeguard your backup infrastructure like never before.
 

What’s New

  • Backup System Actions
Categorized, severity-based alerts help prioritize alerts for:
- Active Threats: detect missed heartbeats or malware events in recovery groups
- System Actions: identify failed inventories or network/credential issues
- Backup Actions: spot stale or missing backups that could compromise recovery
- Profile Misalignment: ensure data resources align with governance-defined backup policies
 
Additionally, you can drill down into each alert to view connected sources and recovery groups, as well as filter by assignee.
 
  • Backup Statistics
Monitor system health and data coverage with an easy list view of: 
- Systems available vs. failed
- Data resources available vs. Excluded
 
  • Backup Copy Status
Ensure your backup strategy is current and comprehensive with a visual of resources and their backup copy status, whether it’s up-to-date, stale, or missing snapshots 
 
  • Data Resource by Type
View your total number of resources and each type, such as VMware virtual machines, Oracle databases, SAP HANA databases, etc. to better be able to tailor policies and actions
 
  • Policies per Data Resource Type
Ensure consistent and appropriate protection with an interactive display of each data resource and associated policy
 
  • Backup Resilience Posture
An interactive color-coded map shows each data resource and whether it’s aligned or misaligned with governance profiles to easily identify needed corrections to maintain compliance
