Symptom: 

When Plan Owners attempt to see their financials in IT Planning, a message displays that reads: "You are logged into IT Planning, however you are not assigned to any cost objects. Please contact your Apptio Admin for more info."

What's going on

Plan Owners cannot see the plan when it is in the New state. 

Resolution

To avoid receiving this error message, the Business Process Owner must first open the plan. 

To open the plan: 

1. On the Component menu, click Planning (How?).
2. On the Plan menu, select the plan you want.
3. Click Open Plan in the upper right corner of the screen, and then follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
   Once this is done, Cost Objects should be visible to plan owners.
