    IBM does not provide network functions, our automation is designed to be open and work with network functions from specialized vendors like Nokia, Ericson and others to create multivendor automated network services

    As Fabien says, multivendor support is quite important. Whereas vendors like Nokia or Ericsson provide the xNFs, one of the benefits of ORAN is the ability to mix different vendors (say AMF from Mavenir, NRF from Nokia...) and those vendors cannot provide an orchestration tool that supports multivendor, or even at inter-domain level.
