What is Community Spotlight ?
A Community is made of people. Many Communities become stronger and more connected by recognizing the contributions and spirit of individual members. The IBM Communities created the Spotlight or “Community Rockstar” segment to recognize those members of the Community who have contributed their knowledge, passion and belief to make it a richer experience.
The Spotlight is always on the Home page of Each Community for the widest possible visibility within the Community. The write-ups are mostly in the form of Q&A, with the goal of getting to know the person featured - What is their role in the Organisation? What is their background in relation to the Community? What are some of their publications on technology and more.
Often, we learn things we didn't know. Like an IBMer who was a bio-engineer before getting into hi-tech, a musician who records heavy metal Christmas songs for his customers and a volunteer fireman who keeps a flock of sheep in a pasture across from his home.
It takes all kinds of people to create a community. The Community Spotlight gives us a chance to feature, acknowledge and celebrate the contributions made by individual members who go the extra mile to help others in the Community. Whether it's clear thinking, good advice, hard-won experience or the bearer of an inspirational story, the Community Spotlight is where we focus on the personalities that make up the fabric of the Community. And also to remind ourselves, what all great people we have, for company, here.
Our content creators are constantly growing. From first-time bloggers to Technical Architects to Consultants, you are going to see more and more of their content here. And wherever possible, i will do a Spotlight on them. If any of you is willing to participate in the Spotlight program (or) Want to refer a person for the program, please feel free to get in touch with me.
