IBM is pleased to announce the latest release of IBM Cloud Pak® for Watson AIOps — version 3.3 — available as of March 30, 2022.
What’s new with version 3.3?
IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps' version 3.3 release focuses on generating forecasted insights and actions from data. The main goal of this release focuses around obtaining predictive insights for the user, and how to resolve incidents with those insights. We do this through our new Story and Alerts Viewer, along with new automations to help resolve incidents. Additionally, we’ve added a new connector to our APM product, Instana, to help application data flow to the Cloud Pak to detect incidents.
Key new features
Story and Alerts Viewer
IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps v3.3 delivers the new "Story and Alerts Viewer", which helps analyze context of incidents, stitched across the full enterprise estate. It acts as a single pane of glass incident dashboard, which displays key details like the probable cause, topology, and recommended runbooks to resolve the incident. This helps the users see immediate context, and ultimately cuts down time spent on resolving incidents.
Automations
IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps v3.3 also delivers automation policies, runbooks, and actions, which help to resolve incidents quickly. Automation policies create a story or automation when certain conditions are met, while automation runbooks provide the ability to define an automation as a set of steps that can run in automated, semi-automated or manual mode. Finally, automation actions give the ability to execute a specific action that can be run on its own or as part of a runbook. These also help cut down the time spent resolving incidents, and users can spend more time innovating instead.
Other features
- New connectors are being introduced, and listed below:
- Instana - provides the ability to connect to an Instana instance and consume events, topology, and metrics from Instana
- Ansible Tower - provides the ability to connect to an Ansible Tower instance to execute a runbook automation
- SSH – provides the ability to connect through the secure shell protocol (SSH) to execute a script automation
- Metric Anomaly Detection provides the ability to see more details (ie graph) of a metric anomaly in the alert view on the side panel of a metric anomaly alert.
- Event and Incident Management updates include an expansion of probable cause and enhance complex noise reduction
Overall, our solution generates trusted opinions, insights and actions that enable users to consolidate and prioritize their work. Users spend less time identifying issues, and allocating more time to innovating.
