Two months ago, I registered for the 30 days free trial of Decision Optimization on Cloud and performed a set of computation experiments with Cplex. Regarding that, I have a couple of questions:

    1) On my PC, I have Cplex Optimization Studio 12.7.1. When I send my model to DOcplexcloud, does it use 12.7.1 engine or the latest one -12.10 I guess- to solve this model?

    2) How much computational resource is allowed for free trial users? I want to report my experiment results with hardware specifications (in terms of number of cores, processor speed, memory) that I have used, but cannot find such information within the documentation.

    Best regards,

    Ozgur

You cannot use the running times obtained with the free docplex cloud account as benchmarking numbers.

Benchmarking for time requires dedicated machines, preferably bare metal, since otherwise the running times may get skewed by other processes (in particular other solves) running on the same physical machine. With the docplex cloud free trial your solves are executed on virtual machines and there is no guarantee that nothing else is running on the same physical machine. So the running times may vary depending on when you solve the problem, even if you solve the exact same problem with the exact same parameters.

In any case, the version that is used to solve your model on the cloud is printed to the log file, so you should be able to find it there. It is definitely newer than 12.7.1.
