Interactive Benchmarking 1.8 added a new role named Interactive Benchmarking View Only. This new view-only role is specific to Interactive Benchmarking, and allows users to browse through the Interactive Benchmarking application without the ability to make any changes to the application. It does not enable view-only access to any other Apptio application. 

More specifically, a user with the view-only role can:

• View all Industry Benchmark metrics
• View all IT OpEx benchmark metrics including the mean, median, and archetype benchmark metrics
• View all Infrastructure Benchmark metrics
• View company information, instance configuration, and cost data throughout the application

A user with the view-only role cannot:

• Select industries in the Industry Benchmarks section
• Choose region or revenue adjusters in the Industry Benchmarks section
• Download benchmark metrics as a .csv file
• Choose scale, region, or industry adjusters in the Infrastructure Benchmark metrics section
• Make changes to organization information, cost data, volumes data, or FTE numbers anywhere in the application
• View Settings, which means that the user cannot connect to a Cost Transparency project, change benchmark currency, or change the ATUM version 

In addition to the new Interactive Benchmarking role, the existing "View Only" role that applies to other Apptio applications has been extended to allow view-only access to Interactive Benchmarking. However, the new "Interactive Benchmarking View Only" role is limited to Interactive Benchmarking and does not grant view-only access to any other Apptio application. 

NOTE  The Interactive Benchmarking drop-down in the top left corner lists applications that users might not be able to access.
