AWS has indicated that they will be deprecating specific versions of billing reports including the Detailed Billing Report with resources and tags as well as the Cost Allocation Report, both of which are sources of billing data for Cloud Cost Management. AWS has not provided a specific date by which they will end support for those billing formats, but has mentioned that when they do announce a date, they will provide at least a 6-month grace period.
Apptio is currently working on an integration with the AWS Cost and Usage report (aka CUR) which will be the go forward billing format for AWS. Apptio will complete that integration well in advance of AWS ending support for the other billing formats.
Hi Suresh... we will be releasing support for the AWS Cost and Usage Report (aka CUR - more information available here: Managing AWS Cost and Usage Reports - AWS Billing and Cost Management) in our next release (12.6) due in early January. We will be releasing a few additional capabilities related to the AWS CUR support, namely:
Additional information on migrating to the CUR will be available with the 12.6 release and we recommend that you configure your CUR in AWS now (ideally at an hourly grain with Resource Ids included).
Thanks,
Randy
@Randall Tennant, we are in the process of configuring Cloud Bills into Apptio. Since this announcement is about 6 months back, any idea if the new format has been integrated in Apptio? OR should I continue to use the detailed bill format?
working with AWS now. This is helpful. Thank you
In a recent implementation we used the "AWS billing detailed line items with resources and tags" report which ingested the data with no issues.
