How does doors detects an ReqIF-File as Update instead of "new definition"

  • 1.  How does doors detects an ReqIF-File as Update instead of "new definition"

We try to import and later update reqif data from another tool.

Doors does import both (initial and update) files after another, but the single module contained in both leads to two modules after merging.

"Module XYZ" and "Module XYZ 2".

During 2nd import Doors seems not to detect that the reqif is an update of the initial imported definition. Manual selecting the definition leads to above behavior.

So HOW does DOORS detect an reqif as update?

The ID in XML we already changed to make it euqal the first import one, did not work.

    Thx

    Hi t.franke1,

please feel free to raise this question as a DOORS support case in your IBM Software Support Portal.

Otherwise I'd look into any URIs involved and mapped and how they differ between the exports from the third party tool. ReqIF is the lowest common denominator, not a precise and complete exchange format. There may also be third party tools to exchange more complete data / concepts between DOORS

    and your third party tool.

    Kind regards,
