AWS S3 adapter

    We are currently on Sterling B2B integrator version 5.2.6.3 and we have the need to send/receive files from AWS S3 storage.

    Is there a built in adapter for AWS S3 available that we can use with our current Sterling integrator version?

    Is it available via patch. Can anyone tell us how can we acquire it?

    Hello Karthik,
    There is a built-in AWS S3 adapter/service available from B2Bi6.0 onwards.  When it comes to 5.2.6.3 to achieve AWS S3 integration you have to perform manual. Please check the attached document on AWS S3 integration prior to B2Bi6.0 implementation.

    Hi Karthik,

    B2B Integrator has introduced an OOB Adapter for AWS S3 Integration. This functionality is available starting with v6.0.0.0. Here is the documentation url - https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS3JSW_6.0.0/integrating/integrating/integrator/Amazon_S3.dita

    Once you upgrade from v5.2.6.3 to v6.0.0.0, you should be able to make use of this feature.

    Hi guys.

    We analyzed this document in a group a while ago and we saw that the code, as it is, is not fully functional.

    The main problem is that it limits the number of clients to 1 per service created from AWS3 over SB2Bi.
    And also, it can only communicate with AWS services published in the US.

    Hi Antonio,

    We can publish other regions by passing <assign to="awss3.region">eu-west-3</assign> parameter in our business process..
    There is a one more issue when we use that code was, it can't post objects/messages into already existing Bucket in AWS S3. It will create new bucket into AWS S3 and bucket name can be passed through business process parameter "<assign to="awss3.bucketname">Bucketname_Abcd</assign> ('Bucketname_Abcd' ,should be created into AWS S3 from this code) this behaviour was there till 6.0.1 version of B2Bi and same has been addressed from B2Bi6.0.2 onwards.
