Creating a mailbox in Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI) is essential for managing and organizing data exchanges between different partners or internal processes. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating a mailbox in Sterling B2B Integrator:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Login to Sterling B2B Integrator:

  • Open your browser and navigate to your Sterling B2B Integrator URL.
  • Log in with your administrator credentials.

Example: https://Sterling_Host:port/dashboard

2. Navigate to Mailbox Management:

  • From the dashboard, go to the "Deployment" tab.
  • In the Deployment tab, locate and click on "Mailboxes".

3. Create a New Mailbox:

  • Once inside the Mailboxes Management interface, click on "Configuration" in the bottom panel.
  • Click on the "Create a new Mailbox" button to start setting up a new mailbox.

4. Configure Mailbox Details:

  • Mailbox Name: Provide a unique name for the mailbox.
  • Parent Mailbox: If this mailbox is part of a hierarchical structure, select a parent mailbox. Otherwise, leave it as default.
  • Description: Optionally, provide a description for future reference.

5. Assign Permissions (Optional):

  • Define access permissions to control which users or groups can read, write, or delete messages in the mailbox.
  • Click on "Permissions" and assign specific roles or users.

6. Save the Mailbox:

  • After filling in the necessary details, click "Save".
  • The new mailbox will now appear in the list of available mailboxes.

7. Test the Mailbox:

  • After creating the mailbox, you can test it by sending a test file from a trading partner or internal user to ensure it functions as expected.

You can log-in to /myfilegateway with the partner user ID and password and test it.

You can also log-in with your producer credential to /mailbox and verify.

Notes:

  • Ensure that the mailbox’s permissions are properly set according to your organization’s data security and access policies.
  • You may want to set up routing rules, schedules, or triggers based on mailbox activities for automated workflows.
