Summary

Planning for disaster is always a challenge. How much should you invest in systems you never want to use? How likely is it that a fast-moving wildfire will take out your data center? How high can flood waters rise before your servers are swamped? It can be hard to calculate those risks - especially lately, with fires and hurricanes behaving in new and unusual ways.

In contrast, we have clearer numbers when talking about human-based attacks: as of 2020, the chance of an organization experiencing a data breach was 27.7%. If analysts could confidently say “30% chance your data center gets flooded this year” most companies would prioritize a move to higher ground, but rarely does ransomware prevention get the same focus.

To make matters worse, human-based disasters aren’t constrained geographically, and after the breach is sealed you may not know which systems are clean and safe to use. At least when floodwaters recede, you can tell which machines are full of mud.

In this webinar, we’ll talk about disaster resiliency planning in 2025, and how to adjust your plans to cover the most likely disaster: humans.
