Safeguarded Snapshot with CLI

    Hello All,

    With regard to Safeguarded Snapshot (scheduling and automation), the documentation always talk about CSM, SCDM and internal scheduler.
    I wonder if taking a Safeguarded snapshot via (scripted) CLI (addsnapshot -safeguarded) is also possible and supported?

    Of course you can. You'll need to set a policy/retention for the safeguarded snapshot by its nature. The -safeguarded parameter allows you to set the retention day with the -retentiondays parameter. You can also read the recently published "Do More with Less: Automating IBM Storage FlashSystem Tasks with REST APIs, Scripting, and Ansible" Redbook. There is an Ansible module called ibm_svc_manage_safeguarded_policy to automate the safeguarded snapshots.
