    Hello,

I'm here to get your advice on some strange problems with a V5000.

I have a new FS5200  and I'm using the remote copy options to migrate the disks to the new san.

The operation went without a hitch until, for a partition consisting of 15 disks, I have one disk and only one disk with which I can't make a relationship with a remote disk on the FS5200.

Another strange thing is that if I create a disk of the same size and attributes on the V5000, I can't create a flashcopy relationship. The only way to make a flash copy is to use the advanced flashcopy options. Then, if I try to make a remote copy with the copy, it doesn't work i can't select auxiliary disk. Try from cli not working too.

I've compared the attributes between two disks in this partition (lsvdisk) and I can't see any difference.

    If you have any ideas.

    Best regards

I've experienced something similar when I tried to create relationship between primary volume created by gigabyte value and aux created by terabyte value.
I found primary volumes  mkvdisk command on audit logs and used same command to create aux volume (it shows byte level capacity). And then relationship created as expected.

    Hi,

Thank you for your advices, there is effectively a small difference in bytes between master disk on V5000 and auxiliary on the FS5200. After some search in the dump file on the v5000 (but capacity in bytes can also be retrieved from "lsvdisk -bytes" command), I can finally retrieve capacity in bytes size and create the disk with the same capacity on FS5200. Relationship can be created.

I've always created disks in GB and don't know why this disk is different from the other

    Best Regards
