I have a question regarding the zoning configuration of the FS5200.

The configuration consists of 8 server hosts, 2 SAN switches, and 1 FS5200. Each of the 8 servers is assigned one volume from the FS5200.

The problem is that the host status on the storage shows as "Degraded".

I researched the reason for this "Degraded" status.

I found that this issue occurs when the host's status policy is set to "Redundant" and it cannot find a redundant path or there is a port without a WWPN login, causing the "Degraded" status.

So, I accessed the FS5200 terminal and entered "lstargetportfc". As shown in the image above, I found that the "active_login_count" for port_id 1 and 3 on node 2 were 3 and 0, respectively.

It seems that port_id 3 appears as "Degraded" because the active_login_count is 0.

I reported this issue to the on-site engineer, and they checked the SAN switch and cables. They found an issue with the SAN switch configuration and informed me that the issue has been resolved.

Here are my questions:

1. Did I correctly identify the root cause of the problem?

2. In a properly redundant configuration, should the "active_login_count" for all ports be "8" like the other ports?

3. Could the reason for port 1 and 3 having "active_login_count" values of 3 and 0, respectively, be due to multipath issues?

Since I haven't had the opportunity to access the system after the issue was resolved, I am posting this question here.
