    Hi Team,

We are going to re-use the FS9150 device and we want to establish replication from one DC to other DC which is same FS9150.

Here we don't have FCoE card installed on the device, and we are having 4 ethernet ports which look likes 1gbps.

node1 eth port1 and node2 eth port2 are used for node service management IP's.

could you please suggest which port i can use for replication configuration either port2 or port3?

    Thanks & Regards

    Jilani Shaik

All 4 Ports of each canister are 10GE Ports. From my point of understanding you can use each port for Replication (global mirror or metro mirror).

Hi Jilani - You can see the purpose of each port and its capabilities listed in the IBM Docs: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/flashsystem-9x00/8.7.x?topic=so-node-canisters-1

There is only a single 1GbE port, it is the technician port, you should not attach this to your network, it is for service operations and should be directly attached to a laptop or service computer.  The others, as Martin has correctly stated are 10GbE.

It is a good practice to separate out your ports functions to better manage security.  Please note that in 8.7.0 we also support full VLAN tagging for Management as well as IO Ports.

Port 1 is the primary management port and will be used for all outbound services traffic (such as Storage Insights, Call Home, IP Quorum, etc).

I would recommend using either port 3 or 4 for your IP Replication unless you have a good reason not to do so and putting it on a separate network from your management (and from any ethernet host IO).
