Generative AI is transforming industries, but its success hinges on the ability to process and manage vast amounts of data. IBM team is excited to participate in NVIDIA GTC 2025, joining thousands of developers, innovators, and business leaders to share our solutions and services to unlock and accelerate data into inference, insights and impacts.
Among the many exciting topics we will showcase at GTC (booth #1714), here are ten of them:
1. Accelerating GenAI with Content-Aware Storage in NVIDIA NIMs and Blueprints
A common implementation of AI pipelines today is to bring data to AI. This works well when the dataset is relatively small and co-located. However, there will be a lot more data in a lot more locations driven by AI requirements. The effective way to address this challenge is to push AI processing closer to where the data is. This concept is “AI Content-Aware Storage (AI CASt).” The vision of content-aware storage is to enable intelligent storage to process data for AI applications. We'll demonstrate the architecture of AI CASt by leveraging NVIDIA Blueprints and NIMs to accelerate the retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline. The innovation will incorporate storage data ingest, metadata and vector DB management.
2. Building NVIDIA SuperPOD Systems with WWT and IBM Storage Scale
IBM and World Wide Technology (WWT) will showcase its expertise in building NVIDIA SuperPOD systems. These systems are designed to deliver unparalleled performance for AI workloads, and IBM Storage Scale played a pivotal role in ensuring seamless data management and scalability. We will highlight how the solution enables organizations to handle massive datasets efficiently, reducing bottlenecks and accelerating AI training.
3. CoreWeave and IBM to Deliver IBM Granite Models Built with NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 Systems
CoreWeave and IBM recently announced collaboration to train IBM Granite models, powered by NVIDIA’s state-of-the-art GB200 NVL72 systems. These models are designed to tackle complex AI challenges, from natural language processing to computer vision. It’s a partnership that’s set to redefine high-performance AI capabilities.
4. IBM Storage Scale System 6000: A Certified High-Performance Storage Solution
IBM Storage Scale System 6000 received the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Certification, solidifying its position as a high-performance storage solution for AI and HPC workloads. The system’s ability to deliver lightning-fast storage for NVIDIA DGX solutions was a major highlight, demonstrating how it can handle the most demanding AI applications with ease. For organizations looking to maximize the performance of their NVIDIA infrastructure, IBM Storage Scale System 6000 is proving to be an indispensable global data platform.
5. Slashing Time to AI Deployment with IBM Fusion HCI
Time-to-inference is a critical metric for AI deployments, and IBM’s Fusion HCI is designed to address this challenge. By integrating NVIDIA GPUs with industry-leading OpenShift-based hybrid cloud infrastructure, Fusion HCI can dramatically reduce the time required to deploy and operationalize AI models for fast, easy and scalable adoption by enterprises of any sizes. The Fusion HCI solution integrates with the CASt solution and provides a powerful and flexible platform for WatsonX and OpenShift workloads.
6. European Exascale Cluster with 24,000 NVIDIA GH200 Superchips and IBM Storage
One of the most exciting showcases at GTC 2025 will be the European Exascale Cluster, featuring 24,000 NVIDIA GH200 superchips and IBM Storage. This massive infrastructure is designed to support exascale computing, enabling researchers and enterprises to tackle some of the world’s most complex problems. IBM’s storage solutions ensure that data is managed efficiently at this unprecedented scale. It’s a testament to how IBM is enabling breakthroughs in science and industry.
7. Building Sustainable AI Infrastructure with NVIDIA GPUs and IBM Storage Scale
Sustainability is a growing concern in the AI industry, and IBM is addressing this challenge head-on. At GTC 2025, IBM will showcase how its Storage Scale solutions, combined with NVIDIA GPUs, can help build sustainable AI infrastructure from the ground up. By optimizing energy efficiency and reducing waste, IBM is paving the way for greener AI deployments. It’s a reminder that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand.
8. Making Petascale Data Ready for AI with Efficient Data Management
We’ll share IBM's innovative approach to managing petascale multimodal data while leveraging GenAI to prepare datasets for AI and analytics. Expect insights into advanced data management technologies, FAIR principle implementation, and real-world healthcare/life science case studies and lessons. Live demos will showcase 5-level of data management from cataloging to knowledge fabric and data orchestration.
9. AI Data Assistance with IBM Storage and NVIDIA AI Enterprise
IBM’s AI Data Assistance solutions, integrated with NVIDIA AI Enterprise, should be another highlight at IBM booth. The solution simplifies data management for AI workloads, enabling organizations to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure.
10. Spark Rapids Acceleration with IBM Storage and NVIDIA AI Enterprise
Finally, IBM will showcase how its storage solutions, combined with NVIDIA AI Enterprise solutions, can accelerate data processing for AI workloads. This integration enables organizations to process large datasets faster, reducing latency and improving overall efficiency. It’s a powerful combination that’s helping businesses unlock new levels of performance in AI data processing.
