IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1.5 and IBM Spectrum Protect Plus V10.1.1 provide you with more secure capabilities for your secondary data, GDPR preparation awareness, and even more ways to protect and access your data.

IBM Spectrum Protect, V8.1.5 provides:

• Enhanced visibility and control to deal with new threats and new regulations
• Automated data change tracking to watch for potential ransomware events
• More tracked metadata points and fields for improved auditing of individual data for GDPR compliance

The new threats and new regulations increase risk of data loss resulting in financial impact in the form of fines (in the case of failure to meet regulation) and ransom (in the case of malware data encryption). IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1.5 brings new capabilities to you that will help your organization detect data encryption by ransomware and allow your administrators to take immediate action, recover lost data, and avoid paying ransom for recovery.

This improved GDPR readiness for backup environments, with more tracked backup metadata points has enhanced documentation for data owner identification and simplified GDPR audit processes.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus V10.1.1 provides:
•    Greater availability with vSnap cloning
•    Greater resiliency with Oracle RAC support
•    New blueprints to make picking the right hardware painless and easy
•    Faster recovery with item level restores from Microsoft SQL and Oracle

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus V10.1.1 has greater resiliency for protected environments by enabling replication of vSnap repositories (vSnaps are the repositories that house the copies of VMs and data made during backup).

There are additional features and enhancements for application backup that includes support for highly available Oracle RAC environments and multi-stream restores for both Oracle and Microsoft SQL resulting in lower RTO.

Implementation becomes even easier with with new configuration blueprints that give prescriptive guidance to administrators for building the most efficient IBM Spectrum Protect Plus environments.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus enables faster and easier backup and restores of item level database data for both physical and virtual SQL and Oracle environments.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus is also included at no additional charge in the IBM Spectrum Storage Suite and IBM Spectrum Protect Suite.
