Introduction:

Explore the latest videos added to the IBM Advanced Technology Group - Storage Channel! These videos are 12 minutes or less and feature demos and presentations on storage topics. The level up videos collection are focused on IBM Cloud Object Storage and IBM Storage Ceph.

Overview:

IBM Cloud Object Storage is a framework that delivers data security, availability, and durability at significantly lower cost than traditional storage.

IBM Storage Ceph is a software defined, hardware independent storage platform that supports block, file, and object in a unified platform.

New Videos:

  • IBM Storage Ceph RGW SSL client - This video shows how to launch an instance of the RADOS Object Storage Gateway (RGW) that will service HTTPS requests for S3 over TCP Port 443, thus achieving encrypted communication between the S3 client and the S3 endpoint.
  • IBM Storage Ceph SSE-C encryption - This video shows how to use the RADOS Object Gateway to store objects using the S3 API with encryption using Customer Managed Keys (SSE-C).
  • IBM Storage Ceph Refresh and Retire - This video shows how to reduce the size of an IBM Storage Ceph cluster from five (5) to four (4) nodes and is a proof point of cluster elasticity to expand and reduce capacity as needed. It is also the steps that would be taken to accomplish a hardware refresh and retire activity.
  • IBM Storage Ceph S3 Object and NFS Files - This video shows how to exchange files and objects between the S3 API client and the NFS file sharing client using IBM Storage Ceph as the single namespace for objects and files.
  • IBM COS Location and Region - This video for IBM COS shows how to map a region or location specifier at the S3 client to a provisioning code of a Container Vault within the IBM Cloud Object Storage System.
