Incident Overview app generated "Client Exception" error

  • 1.  Incident Overview app generated "Client Exception" error

    Posted Fri February 07, 2020 03:05 AM
    Hello,

After installing the Incident Overview app on QRadar Console, I clicked on it but an error was generated with details as follows:

    "Client Exception
The following client exception occurred while handling the server response:
    {0}
    ReferenceError: openIncidentOverview is not defined"

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    What to do first

The issues I've seen around this error in the past have been resolved by have been resolved by using the API to set the app by the app ID for the Incident Overview app to STOPPED, then back to RUNNING through the QRadar app frameworks API. We have a support article on this process here: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/qradar-basic-app-troubleshooting-opening-qradar-support-ticket-1 (see tab 1).

    What to do second

If you continue to have issues, you can use this same technical note to uninstall and reinstall the app (see tab #2 in the technical note).

    Still having issues...

If you reinstall the app per the technical note and still have problems, you should open a case and we will take a look at the service status. I'm assuming with the limit information here that only the Incident Overview app is displaying the error mentioned and that not all of your apps are down. If all of your apps are down, you should get a case opened.

    If you open a case:

    1. Get logs from your QRadar Console appliance. Admin tab > System & License Management > Actions > Collect Log Files. Or see https://ibm.biz/qradarlogs for a video walkthrough.
    2. Open a case with the QRadar Support team and describe your issue.
    3. Attach your logs and include a summary of the troubleshooting you have completed.
    4. A QRadar Support Rep will reach out to you with more information.

One thing of note. You are not asking your troubleshooting question in the QRadar Support Forums, so the users likely familiar with this error might not see your post. You are best off in the future to ask support-type questions here for visibility: https://ibm.biz/qradarforums. Just a note for future consideration.
