The QRadar Support team maintains a set of resources intended to assist customers with common problems, which we call QRadar 101. We are currently working through a large list of features and improvements in the coming months. Last week we published a new page called Applications 101. This page helps users find information on application related APARs, learn about common troubleshooting tasks, get important updates, and share resources and videos we reference often with cases. As we continue to improve this page, we will be adding more relevant content, videos, and more troubleshooting for users and administrators.

Changes coming soon

We have other features on our roadmap coming soon. Such as an updated APARs 101 page to add better filtering, more frequent updates, highlighting important/critical APARs, better security bulletin filtering, and more. We are currently working through some issues pushing data updates to APARs 101, but we hope to have our data issues resolved this weekend. We want to drive links between APARs and our updated Master Software List 101 page to make filtering for security bulletins, finding APARs in one click, having better visibility to known issues. This includes adding all QRadar associated products to the Master Software list, such as WinCollect, QRadar Packet Capture, and other products that have unique release notes.

The June roadmap for QRadar 101

Another important change on our roadmap coming this month is a redesign of the QRadar 101 homepage. Our goal is in QRadar Support is to convert the existing top level in to an important notices hub for administrators. We want to give users a week-by-week look at important changes, notices, issues we are tracking, and more.

As we work on this new design, we would be interested in feedback from users on what content you feel is important. We have not shared this redesign publicly yet, but we wanted to create a post here and share some of the ongoing work with the larger community. If you have content you'd like to see brought in to focus on this page, feel free to comment.

Goals of this redesign:

  • Promote important notices and alerts to users in a single view.
  • Give updates to work that happens on a weekly basis, such as parsing changes that occur in weekly auto updates. We also want to give users a sub-page off of home to catch up and get DSM metrics month-to-month.
  • Get important video content in front of users and provide look ahead for support technical events hosted on the Community.

Here is a glimpse at what we are working on for the QRadar 101 redesign in June:

Summary

We are working on a lot of new content, features, and pages that can help administrators learn about troubleshooting and staying informed with QRadar changes. If you have comments or troubleshooting you would like to see created, let us know in the comments.
