What is the difference in features and functionality between the BAW Standard profile vs BAW Advanced profile? Which is preferred and why?

We are building a CP4BA environment on ROSA (Red Hat Openshift on AWS) and need to migrate an IBM Case Manager 5.3.3 solution from an on-prem traditional WAS P8 environment into this new CP4BA w/ BAW environment.

We were heading down the path to use Postgres as the database, but then came across documentation (see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/advanced-database-support-ibm-business-automation-workflow-distributed-platforms#PostgreSQLSupport) that says this:

PostgreSQL Server limitations

  • Supported only for Business Automation Workflow standard profile, advanced profile is not supported.

What exactly is the difference between standard and advanced profile? What features will we not be able to use with the standard profile? Is there clear documentation explaining the difference?

I think that this particular limitation was copied from BAW documentation here:  https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/baw/24.0.x?topic=postgresql-creating-databases  and it warns you that BAW on traditional WAS can not support Advanced profile  (bpm.de.type=Advanced in properties of BPMConfig, read: old capabilities from WebSphere Process Server) with PostgreSQL.

In that context this limitation does not apply to CP4BA as all "profiles"  there are "standard" anyway.
