 Upgrade from IBM BAW 19 to IBM BAW 24.1

Hi Members,

I need guidelines for upgrading IBM BAW 19 (CP4BA) to IBM BAW 24.1 with 6 process currently deployed on it.

Inspection of versionInfo.sh , it is observed that we have WebSphere Application Server , version 8.6.3.21030, this further suggests has IBM BAW 19.0.0.3. 

This is important because an upgrade from BAW 19.0.0.3 or later to 24.x is supported.

   BAW 19.0.0.3 à BAW 24.0.0 à 24.x

ow should I move forward in the upgrade, looks to me as if we have to clone this entire IBM BAW 19 production as sandbox in parallel (in our situation we have BPM 8.5 as Dev. which does not have direct upgrade path).  Appreciate suggestions , on how to go about running applications/processes to be compatible on BAW 24.x. How should i go about artifact migration.

I think that 8..6.3.21030 is BAW 21.0.3. Are you sure you are running BAW 19? It reached EOL in 2022 with paid support until 2023.

I would recommend trying an in-place upgrade to BAW 24.X after creating a full database backup as a precaution (Make sure it is a full backup and not partial). Also, I'm pretty sure imcl does compatibility checks before upgrading any software.
