The Telnet connection to the partition was working fine, then suddenly it stopped connecting. I ran STRTCP *ALL and STRHOSTSVR *ALL and they started connecting again. I checked the qsysopr queue and the system log, and only found multiple messages in QSYSOPR CPF87D7. I doubled the QAUTOVRT system value. We're also tracing the IPs involved to see if they had an excessive number of requests. I'm still wondering what could have happened and if it affected other ports. What could have happened and what else could I have checked?

Dear Miguel

What was the original value of QAUTOVRT ?  Have you checked with IT team if more Telnet clients recently increases for a reason?   You should also try to set the system value QAUTOVRT to *NOMAX for a while to see if the problem is solved or not?

What is the value of parameter MAX ACT of *BASE pool in WRKSYSSTS screen? It should be set at least a value of 1000.

You should display QSYSOPR message queue and look for other messages immediately preceding message CPF87D7 for additional causes for the failure.
