I'm wondering if there is any way possible to summarize our labor figures on the summary tab by Role. I've poked around in schema and reference data and can't seem to find a good way to do this. In the schema for Financials, it looks like I am unable to add a custom field that would reference the Role dimension so that's not an option. I was also looking to see if there is a way I could create a custom field in the labor tab that would basically just copy the value from the Role field. Then I could also add this custom field into Financials and I'd be able to summarize by the new field.
Any ideas?
@Chuck Krussel You need to create a custom field, like Job Title, on both the Labor and Financial Schema. Then in the Company Profile, under Labor Summarization Options, you would need to select the custom field.
@Rob DeLeo - Thanks. This was my assumption but what I really need is to be able to automatically take what's already in the "Role" field and populate it into this new custom field. We would still want to use the Role field if possible. Any idea if what I'm asking is possible?
Hi Chuck, unfortunately adding a kind of what I call a "calculated" field (Taking some info from another one) is according to me not available in the tool. Already an improvement idea is existing: Idea Details - Apptio Community for which you can also vote.
