 ServiceNow Two-Factor Authentication Required - setting up datalink

I am trying to set up a datalink for getting ServiceNow data but it requires 2 factor authentication to get in. Can I still use datalink and, if so, how do I set it up to get through the 2FA?

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can still use datalink for ServiceNow even when 2FA is present. ServiceNow, along with other software packages, send data directly to Apptio via Datalink via a service account. Service accounts typically interface with ServiceNow+Datalink via encrypted API keys.

Once, you have reviewed the article, file a support ticket to schedule a time with our support team, yourself, your SSO team, and the ServiceNow team.

The lady who set ours up is currently on maternity leave, so I'm going to be in the same spot soon ;-)  I know something has to happen on the ServiceNow side and you have to get an encrypted password.  That's about the extent of my knowledge on that one.  Would love to learn more, so hoping someone can pop on here and help us both out. :-)

@Joe Simmons I would read the article but when it directs me to Apptio front door and says my credentials are invalid. Could you potentially add a print out of the article as an attachment to your answer so I can read through?
