Does anyone have some best practices for utilizing the PFP templates?

Our main concern at this time is around the versioning of templates when we open a new projection.  Is there an easy way for Project Managers to note what their approved budget template was so they know how to compare the various versions they may have?

@Jodi Abate let me ask some clarifying questions. What do you mean by PFP templates? If you are asking about comparing Projects expenses data between versions, you can use Add Comparison method from line item table and compare the expenses between various snapshots.

Hi @Jodi Abate. I suspect you're referring to "plan" instead of "template". If not, then I suspect you're referring to "snapshot".

In regards to the plan, each one is uniquely named. Typically, the plan names are set by your IT Finance team, your TBM Office, or whomever controls the creation of plans within IT Planning.

If a PM would like to note which plan is associated with their project's budget, they would need to identify that plan's unique "name". Once known, they can open another plan and use the in-tool comparison options to compare the plan to the noted budget plan.

If I'm on the right track here, please let me know if you'd like more information about comparing plans. Otherwise, I'm interested in clarifying comments.
