2. The costs for mainframe wouldn't necessarily be driven by Apptio, per se, although I'm not familiar with how exactly your model is configured. Typically there is some relationship (or allocation sequence) that connects the general ledger (cash out the door) to the usage in mainframe (mips that determine the cash out the door). If you can nail down where in your actuals you see Mainframe expense and model that up through your infrastructure modelling based on consumptive mainframe details (maybe even with batch transactions and/or online transactions to compliment the baseline Mainframe details), you should see some useful patterns and/or insights (i.e. what Mainframe usage you need, what kind of excess capacity your carrying, what aspects are driving costs, etc.)
