Lost Cell Comments when table structure is changed on reports

Question

Hello! My team uses cell comments in the CT financial reports (in Production) to explain budget variances every month, and have been doing so for over a year. They've asked me to make some changes to the table they add comments to, but have also said that any time the structure of the table is changed, they lose all of the comments they've added up to that point.

Has anyone seen this issue and/or does anyone know of some sort of workaround? I understand there isn't any way to export those report tables to Excel where it includes the cell comments either. Do those comments just live on the production report, but nowhere else to be exported or saved?

I'd appreciate any insight!

Hi Jessica, From a UI standpoint, yes you do lose those comments. However, they are not lost. You will need to submit a support ticket to retrieve the comments and support can send you a table with the comments. Hope this helps!
