Hi Team,

We have a list of applications and their possible savings in a table within a report (See attached).

We're trying to just show the top 5 savings, however, there's no way that I know of to limit the amount of rows for the entire table. As far as I've seen, you can just adjust the table settings to control how many results show on each page. We are just trying to show the top 5 savings, and not the rest of the dataset. I was thinking of modifying a filter, however, that's a fixed number, and the possible savings is variable and changes between business units.

I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten around this and achieved limiting an x amount of rows in a table.

Thank you,

Josh

Yeah, when I was initially looking at this and thinking about the ranking, I was going to create the ranking based on high to low and rank based on that.  Other filters wouldn't have factored into it because I would have hidden the other rows.  This would be an excellent enhancement request!

Too funny - been messing with this same issue this week. πŸ˜…

The thought was to create some sort of ranking, 1 through 5.

Then create another column that states if the ranking was less than or equal to 5, then enter the cost; otherwise, enter 0.

Then create the total based on that new total column.  Still tinkering with it, though. πŸ˜•

This thread may help - will tinker with it next week and see if I can get it to work as well.

@Jenny Franklin I was thinking of doing a ranking as well, however, where I got stuck is how would it know what the ranking is when there's a filter applied to it.
