Starting WSL does not work and triggers an error because the download of the files on a domain that is not accessible : bob-bot1.fyre.ibm.com

Here is the error

[Error - 15:36:34.132] Error resolving authority
Error: Couldn't install vscode server on remote server, install script returned non-zero exit status

    at async c:\Users\abdelkrim\.bobide\extensions\jeanp413.open-remote-wsl-0.0.5-universal\out\extension.js:1:1739

here is an attempt to execute a ping that miserably fails.

ping bob-bot1.fyre.ibm.com

curl -v http://bob-bot1.fyre.ibm.com:3000/reh/bob-ide/linux/x64/1.105.1+bob0.0.12 -o /dev/null
ping: bob-bot1.fyre.ibm.com: Aucune adresse associée avec le nom de l'hôte

* shutting down connection #0
curl: (6) Could not resolve host: bob-bot1.fyre.ibm.com

Conclusion : I can't use IBM Bob on my local system running WSL.

What can you do to help me?

Kind regards

Abdelkrim

Hi @Abdelkrim Boujraf, I think I see the issue here. I believe at this time, you need to have an IBM internal network connection to complete the installation on WSL. That would be why the connection to the ibm.com domain fails. You are a business partner, correct?

Alternatively, you can try installing at least version 13 on Linux instead of Windows but no guarantees that this will resolve the issue. Sorry, I am not an expert but have seen some tips and tricks internally 😊

Hi @Abdelkrim Boujraf,

Can you please share how you installed the Bob-IDE?

Kind regards,

Libby

@Libby Lavrova I have installed Bob-IDE with the regular Windows Installer. : `Bob-IDEUserSetup-x64-1.105.1+bob0.0.12.exe`
