 Error message Invalid feature quantities have been ordered. Related to ED75

Hi folks,

We are trying to find a solution for a strange issue regarding a Power 10 system running IBMi 7.6 where the customer has requested the addition of 5770-BR2.
After we add this to the config as a MES upgrade in e-config we get two strange error's:
(1)
9105-22A: Server 1 (SN = 78A....) does not contain a valid hardware machine type, plant of manufacture code, and serial number to create a software key. The following needs to be addressed for Software Keys: Plant of manufacture code does not contain an entry. Valid Plant of manufacture codes: 00, 02, 06, 10, 13, 21, 44, 51, 65, 68, 75, 78, 82, 83, 84, VS or V0. To enter a machine type, plant of manufacture code, and serial number, use the Jump To Wizard function to visit the IBM i Preferences/Keys Preferences/Software Keys panel.

We have never been asked for a plant code? Why do we get this question and where can you find this info?

9105-22A: Server 1 (SN = 78A....): The following feature(s) have been selected in invalid quantities: (EB75) - - Maximum allowed: 0; Selected: 2 Edit and re-configure the wizard to remove the invalid feature(s).
So why would there still be any IBMi 7.5 components still be in this config as it shows the config to currently be running IBMi 7.6?
But anyhow, where can we remove EB75?

More than likely something to do with perpetual and subscription changes but no further ideas, hope your do.

Hope someone here has some suggestions/solutions.

If your serial number begins with 78 (like the example you've given) then your country code is 78.  https://www.ardent-tool.com/misc/Plant_Codes.html

Dear Mark

Before you do the upgrade, you should run Validate function over the base config first and check if there appears any error message and rectify the base config accordingly and repeat the validation until no error appears.  To enter the plant code and serial number, you need to drill down into the SS1 entry in the SW part of based config to Preferences section in which you enter such info.

It is the e-Config tool user's responsibility to ensure the "clean" base config used as the starting point for upgrade process.  You use "Validate" and "Edit" functions in e-Config remove or add any feature codes that makes a clean base config.    Manual edit of the base config requires sufficient knowledge and experience using the tool.  If you are an inexperience IBM BP, I suggest you seek advice from an IBM i sales or tech sales who know enough about using e-Config tool?

e-Config tool provides you with the ability to "edit" the base config manually.  Look for the "Edit" button (if this word is still used.) .
