Moving this over here in hopes that someone can help me.  New to drill reports and so far and they're driving me crazy. 😡

Here's the scenario:  I have the report built out nicely for 'Current Month', but when I change that selection to say 'Year to Date' or any other time selection there ... POOF!  All of my formatting goes out the window (except for the one month where I originally built it in May21).

I don't get it, but then again, new to drills, so learning!  But trying to figure out how to keep my formatting regardless of Time Period selected there at the top of the report.  Is that possible?

Tagging @Debbie Hagen and @Jenny Goodwin and if it's something easy and you feel like saying, "Ahem, someone just needs a refresher on reports training" - feel free to say it lolπŸ˜‰  I know that is 100% true!  Seems like my entire TBM life I've lived in the model on the CT side.  Starting to experiment and learn new things, though, which is what I wanted to do - just really feeling those growing pains haha. 😰

Thanks everyone for your review and ideas!! πŸ™Œ

Hi Jenny,

If you built the format for 'current month', you need to build the same for other period selections. You can right click at the report to use the 'copy paste' option.  My system down can't show you a screen shot now...

Thank you so much @Wai Mee CHONG 😊 - I had no idea!  I figured it would just "stick" with one selection and carry over to the others.  Back to editing!

Hi @Wai Mee CHONG I replicated the format across the time options.  When I have 'Current Month' selected, however, and change time periods - say from May21 to Apr21, the formatting does not stick.  Seems odd that I would need to format each time period for each option.  Is there a way to make the report a 'master template' of some sort and have the formatting stick that way maybe?  Thank you! 😊

Hi @Jenny Franklin, Do you have the screen shot to show how does the formatting changed? i uses 'Months' like the 1st & 2nd screenshots below.

Do you compare same month in different years for few metrics like cost, forecast?  i do have an issue using the 'Months' selection. The sequence of the months were out of order when we compare a few metrics like cost vs forecast for one period selection eg, monthly. Apptio team advise to include a 'Year (Years 1,-1)' filter but this only resolved for months to show in one year. If you want this to show for multiple years it will back to the out of order issue. Wish to know a smarter way if there is

Hi @Wai Mee CHONG we're using Current Month, Months Year To Date, Year To Date, and Annual.  I sort of recall the issue you're speaking of, but thought it was fixed because I haven't run across it again.  When I use one of the four selections previously mentioned, they seem to show up in order.  My only issue now is it doesn't keep the formatting period over period.  No idea why that's happening. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ  You'll notice in the images attached that May 2021 is in a nice (and saved) format, but when I move to June 2021, we lose the Set Column Width that we had applied to all of the columns.😒

Hi @Jenny Franklin, i tried the same in my report for current month and it has the same issue like you. i have this issue only when i switched to a different year for monthly but other than that the format stays.

Hmm... i am sorry i can't help much. Probably this is something need to be enhanced or fixed ...
