Creating a new modeled object

Hi everyone!

I feel silly asking this question but here it goes..

I'm looking to create a new modelled object that I want the cost metric to flow to. I've created a modelled object before by using the "Modelled" step off an existing table, however, I am wondering if there is another way to do it. When looking at some of the other modelled objects, none of them seem like they're going off a "Modelled step".

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi Rachel!

Where is the Cost Metric do you want to flow to? There are definitely a few different ways you could handle this depending on your goals.

Option 1: If you are looking to create a new model that flows lets say from Cost Source to New Object to IT Resource Towers. You will need a table that has a model step added to the table. Once this is complete you will need to add an allocation from Cost Source to New Object (you might need to refresh your web browser before the allocation line will load the new object). You will set up the allocation to the new object and once you are flowing dollars to the new object you will make another allocation out to the next model object as desired.

Option 2: You can create a New Metric and create a drive coming from Cost Source to feed your new Model if you do not want the model to be apart of Cost. Then once your driver was setup you will then have your table with a model step and add an allocation in this new metric.
