hello

has anyone created a report to visualise the savings captured from using a Azure Reserved Instance?

My thoughts are the key values needed are List price, amortized cost, Microsoft MACC agreement discount. what formula would you use to workout the savings captured?

Thanks

Hi @Joe Hetherton - hope this will help you

How to access and view Azure Savings Plan reports in Cloudability:
Accessing Azure Savings Plan Reports
From the Cloudability primary navigation menu:

- Under **Insights**, select **Savings Plans** and then select the **Azure** tab to access your savings plan portfolio
- Under **Optimize**, select **Reserved Instance Planner** and then select the **Azure SP** tab to access your savings plan recommendations [1]

## What You Can View

In the Azure Savings Plan portfolio, you can view an inventory of your current Azure Savings Plans along with summary KPIs for the total quantity and hourly commit of your Savings Plans. You can also view Azure Savings Plan purchase recommendations as well as summary KPI totals including the total number of recommended purchases, the total upfront fees, the estimated net savings, and the estimated savings rate. [1]

## Prerequisites

Before you can access these reports, you need to ensure proper credentials are configured:

Customers need to ensure that the necessary Azure credentials and permissions have been enabled to provide Cloudability with access to their Savings Plan data:
- MCA customers: Configure the billing account reader by role
- EA customers: Regenerate and rerun the script at the EA level [1]

Additionally, the Cloudability application's service principal must already exist in the Azure tenant(s) where the Savings Plan Reader role will be assigned [2].
