hello
In this situation, it's better to create a follow-up work order at the operating site it's the cleanest approach is usually to finish up the current workshop work order so all the work
done there is properly recorded, even if a few parts are still pending.
You can add a note on the WO or in the work log to mention that some parts are still on order and will be installed later.
Once that’s done, move the asset back to the operating site. After the move, create a new work order at the operating site for the remaining work once the parts arrive.
This keeps your history accurate ,one WO for the workshop repairs and another for the follow-up installation.
If you want to keep things connected, link the two work orders through the Related Records tab. That way, anyone reviewing the asset history can easily see the full repair trail from the workshop to the operating site.
I hope this helps!
best regards
