Can I connect Cognos directly to a IBM Cloud Postgres-as-a-service even if the TLS cert that is provided is self signed?

I'm new to Cognos and I'm researching a bit about it. We have a Postgres database as a service in the IBM cloud. I want to connect it to Cognos.

From IBM Cognos Analytics connection - IBM Cloud Pak for Data as a Service is says that Cognos doesn't support self signed TLS certs. And when I look a the connecting details in Postgres it says that it's self signed. Since it's all IBM I was wondering if that matters?

    Hello Leo,

Thank you for your inquiry!  As far as I am aware, Cognos Analytics comes in a few different deployment types, and connection method may vary depends on those types but I'm not too sure on that part.

It might be good to post your question in IBM Business Analytics community - there is a Cognos Analytics specific discussion board.  Make sure you mention what type of Cognos Analytics you are using as well.  i.e. Cloud Pak for Data + Cognos Analytics cartridge, Cloud Pak for Data as a Service + Cognos Analytics cartridge, or standalone Cognos Analytics SaaS, etc.

    I hope it helps!

Nevermind. Works fine using the self-signed cert.
