IBM Rational Developer for i

Hello,

For a while now I've been trying to figure out how to use the Template field on the New Source Member window. I was hoping that someday I would see an article on this field. I assume that you can create a default template for different source types. Kind of like snippets. Can some explain to me how to use this or point me to an article on how to use this?

Hi Kent,

RPGLE and SQLRPGLE are the only supported types currently. 

We will be expanding the types for the IDEA https://ibm-power-systems.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/IBMI-I-3347 

You may want to add the DDL type to the idea.

I'll be adding a new one as soon as 9.8.0.2 ships. In 9.8.0.2 we are adding the ability to create your own fields, and content assist inside the template editor to make their usage easier.

I'll also create some other videos showing how to use other templates using content assist.
