IBM PowerHA for i

Does PowerHA for i natively support FlashSystems Volume Group Flashcopy, sometimes called Volume Group Snapshot? If not supported today, when is it expected to be released?

PowerHA for i currently supports FlashSystems Consistency Group-based FlashCopy technology. The product recently introduced several automation enhancements to this FlashCopy integration that are built into the product itself. At this time, PowerHA for i does not currently support Volume Group Snapshots on FlashSystems. However, in March the PowerHA team released support for using Asynchronous Policy-Based replication (which uses Volume Groups). The PowerHA Asynchronous Policy-Based replication continues to also integrate with Consistency Group-based FlashCopy, including all of the FlashCopy Automation support.

The team regularly uses feedback to drive the future direction and prioritization of the product.
