You cannot install ILMT in any IBMi OS. Below are the OS supported in which ILMT can be installed:

    • AIX
    • Windows
    • Linux (RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu,
    • CentOS, Debian, Oracle, on PowerPC)
    • HP-UX
    • Solaris Zones
    • OSX

IBMi Lic keys are based on the licensing you have ordered/procured while ordering the Power system along with IBMi OS.

    .

You can check your Lic keys by command : DSPLICKEY OUTPUT(*PRINT)

    .

One more thing: Specifying PowerPC 64 bit is not required anymore. IBMi now is running in Power platform with RISC architecture. Precisely saying starting from Power-5 machines IBMi architecture is RISC.

    .

Previous to that Power-4 when there were no FSP it was CISC architecture. Power platform nowadays do not use CISC architecture anymore.

    .

    Thanks,

    Navin.

All the above from Navin stands true. However, if required (you are running you IBM products that require licence checking, eg. Websphere*) would need to install the Disconnected Scanner for IBMi. The Disconnected Scanner files (includes the latest licence database for checking) is available from with where ever you are running the ILMT server.

You need to set up a script to send the resulting discovery files to the ILMT server server for processing. The install process includes commands to create JOBSCDE for listing the products usage.

I personally use SQL scripts (using ACS) to archive off the previous discovery files and then upgrade (quarterly) to the latest version.
