Let me suggest a couple of support site links for this information.

First is the AIX support lifecycle information at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/aix-support-lifecycle-information. This shows TL lifecycle details along with the date of the latest published service pack and an estimate for the next service pack as appropriate.

Next is the System to AIX maps. This provides service pack level details by hardware systems for virtual I/O only and all I/O configurations. It can be found at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system-aix-maps.

For example, with a Power10 E1050 system and AIX 7.2 TL5, the minimum required service pack is SP4 and the latest is SP7.

    AIX 7.2
Technology Level Base Level Recommended Level Latest Level
    7200-04 7200-04-06-2220 Refer to FLRT 7200-04-06-2220
    7200-05 7200-05-04-2220 Refer to FLRT 7200-05-07-2346

You may want to bookmark these sites for future reference. I hope that helps.

    Yes, Thank you.

    That is it.

We see lifecycle date and TL but not the ordinal number of SP.

    Regards.

You are likely experiencing the same issue that I had after installing SP 7200-05-07. You need to upgrade smbc.rte to 7.2.302.11 due to openSSL being upgraded in the SP and no longer containing libcrypto64.so.0.9.8. This fix is not included in the SP because it is considered optional software. If you run "ldd /usr/sbin/smbcd" you will see this error:

    /usr/lib/libcrypto.a(libcrypto64.so.0.9.8)

ar: 0707-109 Member name libcrypto64.so.0.9.8 does not exist.
