I'm looking for a canned solution or methodology to showcase internal chargeback costs within an AIX IBM Power Systems environment. If you have any recommendations, tools, or strategies that simplify this process, please share your insights.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

    • Charge the RAM separate from the CPU
    • All LPARs capped to entitlement, unless they're part of a CPU Pool, in which case the CPU Pool must have a max, and be charged by the max. (You really don't want whining about performance when some other tenant reduces the available free CPU)
    • Charge an extra fee per additional VIOS, as well as their CPU, RAM, slots, and switch ports (some tenants think they need extra VIOS, but that increases complexity and is seldom needed.
    • Charge per physical slot and switch ports when an LPAR has a physical adapter.

(No, I don't know of a packaged solution)
